The Garmin Forerunner 945, the long-awaited update to Wareable fave the Forerunner 935, has leaked again. This time, we’ve got pictures and details on some of the key specs to expect from this upcoming high-end sports watch.
Like the 935, the 945 looks set to be the pick for triathletes and anyone that wants the features of a Fenix inside of a smaller body, as per a leak spotted by ActiveJr.com. The 945 will come in two versions, but both will feature a 47mm watch design and the Garmin standard 5ATM waterproof rating.

It’s going to inherit the music features already rolled out to the likes of the Fenix 5 Plus Series, Forerunner 645 Music and Vivoactive 3 Music. So that means onboard storage for up to 1,000 songs and offline playlist support for streaming services including Spotify. There will also be Garmin Pay bringing contactless payment support to yet another Garmin watch.
On the sports tracking front, there will be big performance monitoring features including VO2 max and training status insights with adjustments made based on heat and altitude acclimation status, as well as training load focus, recovery time, and aerobic and anaerobic training effects. That should indicate that a heart rate monitor is in tow of course.
Mapping will be a big new feature here too, with support for full-color onboard maps to make sure you know where you’re going on your next outdoor activity. New safety and tracking features as well as incident detection will be there too to help keep you safe when you’re out on your own.

Battery life was always one of the best features of the 935 and with the 945, and it seems we can expect up to 2 weeks in smartwatch mode, 10 hours in GPS mode with music and an UltraTrac mode that can serve up up to 60 hours. That’s pretty much what you could get from the Forerunner 935.
The listing priced for Forerunner 945 for $749.99 before it was taken down.
Garmin Forerunner 945: the story so far…
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard chatter about the Forerunner 945. Not long after we heard rumors about the Forerunner 245, a leak appeared on Garminâs German site, where a picture was displayed of the watch â and then promptly removed, with one Twitter user grabbing a snap of the broken link.
Garmin website in Germany appears to confirm Garmin Forerunner 945 is imminent. Post on Garmin forums to this ‘reveal’ has just been removed. https://t.co/kHdRMVrZOc cc: @dcrainmakerblogpic.twitter.com/xHQqzmLQz5

We don’t know when the Forerunner 945 is going to land, but with its appearance via a retail landing page, it looks like it could be soon. When you consider that the Forerunner 935 was released back in 2017, itâs been long overdue an upgrade. When we have that official news of its arrival, we’ll of course let you know.
